We're Back!
It's 260 days since Leeds' last BarCamp and what was the highlight of LS1, the first Leeds Web Festival. So rather than wait a whole year, we're back three months early for the third BarCamp Leeds, taking place on 30th & 31st May, 2009!
BarCamp Leeds is part of LSx 2009 - Leeds' second web festival, other events include the Innovation North 2009 Showcase, Girl Geek Dinner, Future of Web Apps, Physical Computing 101 (which takes place right before BarCamp) and a bunch of other meetups, conferences and unconferences. Check out the LSx 09 site for more information.

What'll be happening at BarCamp?
Like all epic trilogies, the third part is the biggie - um, let's not mention Return of the Jedi, Godfather III or Matrix Revolutions... - so we have a bunch of stuff planned for the weekend...
- Around 40 session slots will be made available throughout the weekend.
- We're planning to have a Pre-Camp Dinner - to break the ice - on the evening of Friday 29th, most likely at Spice Quarter in Leeds. Come prepared with three tags to describe yourself!
- We'll be arranging live hookups with BarCamps in New York City, Sioux Falls and San Diego throughout the weekend.
- Our tags will be #lsx09 and #bcleeds09
- We're thinking about a Tech Amnesty - bring along your old schwag, books, computers, phones, gadgets and software for a big ol' swap meet and maybe some freebies for charity.
- We'll be continuing our tradition of a banging afterparty consisting of lotsa big screens and Nintendo Wiis...do bring your consoles, games & controllers. If we're lucky, local band Superpowerless will be playing through the evening.
So come join us at Old Broadcasting House again, this time for three days of geekery and (hopefully) great weather from the evening of Friday 29th, to lunchtime on Sunday 31st!

What is BarCamp Leeds?
BarCamp Leeds is the city's third 'unconference', a event where the folks that attend create the programme of sessions themselves. BarCamps are open, participatory, democratic, 'workshop' events; the organisers and sponsors simply provide wireless broadband, a venue, beverages and food! The attendees provide the content - and the buzz :)
BarCamps are a great opportunity to network, lean and share...plus generally a lotta fun too. We're hoping our stack of Nintendo Wiis will break the ice and we know Old Broadcasting House will be a fun and inspiring venue.
We'd love for you to come - if you're a creative, an artist, a writer, blogger, technologist, or a developer, geek, entrepreneur, academic researcher, gamer or investor please join us. If you're just curious and interested in digital culture or social media - we'd love to meet you too :)
Come and demo, talk, share or just hang out!
